The New Review - Scott Pilgrim vs The World DVD

Welcome to my new blog... I am the Master... here you will see reviews on movies I've seen, music I've listened to... and just opinions about random shit... you might see funny... you might see weird... but it's all for you... so if you have an opinion about something, or a request for a review, all ya gotta do is speak up...

Now for my first...

WOW it's been a long ass time since I've done a blog post, and even longer since I've done a movie post, but both are about to change right now...

Once I finish each movie... whether it be on DVD, Blu-Ray, or still in the theaters... it will be on here...
And I think it's fitting for this revival of a review segment to start with...

HELLS YEAH

The New Review

"Scott Pilgrim vs The World"
Starring: Michael Cera & Mary Elizabeth Winstead

Background Check: Scott Pilgrim has been a cult-like icon across numerous mediums, including a popular comic book series, and a successful game that can be found on X-Box Live and PSN(if you like arcade beat-em-ups, GET IT), and now this movie...

Concept: Scott Pilgrim is a Canadian guy who is practically a huge loser in a low-rent rock band, trying to get over that one ex-girlfriend who became a megastar. He starts having this dream about a girl...and he ACTUALLY meets this girl in real-life...a serious dream come true. The girl: Ramona Flowers. Exactly what Scott needs to regain what he had been missing. BUT... Ramona has some baggage. To be able to be with Ramona and live happily ever after, Scott must defeat and destroy what is known as The League of Evil Exes... all of whom Ramona dated and dumped... all of whom have superpowers... meanwhile, trying to help his band land that one perfect gig... How can a lovable loser like Scott Pilgrim accomplish such a task?

Execution: This movie was amazing... not just from a fanboy-like perspective. Cast was perfect, from current sensation Michael Cera and the beautiful Mary Elizabeth Winstead, down to cameos from soon to be Captain America Chris Evans and Christopher Reeves clone Brandon Routh... and a quickie scene from "Hung" star Thomas Jane(or for movie lovers "The Punisher")... each part was cast perfectly, and each scene/cameo was fluid. Humor abound, plenty of action with better coreographed hand to hand combat scenes than all of Stallone's and Schwarzneggar's movies put together... but keep in mind that this was based on Comics/Game, so the visuals were over the top, and the movie was over the top, but it wasn't done to take away from what was going on, it flowed with the movie... and this is a movie about a guy in rock band, so the soundtrack went accordingly... and amazing executed... this movie rocked, pun intended.

Extra Points: If you haven't read the comics or played the game, then there are a few surprises with the general story... omage to a particular classic game toward the beginning... and what kind of powers each Ex brings to to party

In closing: this story + this cast + this music + these visuals + that flow = an awesome fucking movie. An over the top movie, with over the top everything. This movie rocked...and with my first EVER perfect score, it is my esteemed honor to place Scott Pilgrim vs The World at #1 on my all time top ten list of movies, knocking previous leader "The Dark Knight" down to #2...yes, I think this movie was better than "The Dark Knight", on a different kind of level. But that's just my opinion...

It's all a matter of opinion: I cannot stress enough that THIS is my opinion, you can either agree with me or not... I don't have to justify my opinion, because *clear throat* that's what this blog is about. Whether I like it or not doesn't mean you have to or not...... it's just my justification for giving you all MY recommendation...... which leads me to my FINAL JUDGMENT

FINAL JUDGMENT: This movie is a must-see and a must-buy. If stoned or drunk, even better, but this movie seriously rocks. Whether you can say you liked it or not, when it's over, your first thought will be "What the hell did I just see?" followed by the urge to watch it again..... therefore, the movie will have done it's job...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There you have it folks, a perfect score for Scott Pilgrim vs The World and anyone who buys this movie...... and when it's over, come back to thank me...

Tune in again soon for The New Review of "The A-Team"
