And go figure, it has to do with movies...
Oh, and the movie genius in question is Christopher Nolan and this has alot to do with a popular recent choice he has made...
Jump with me...
WTF #1: What Was He Thinking?
If you haven't heard yet, the villains for Christopher Nolan's next Batman flick "The Dark Knight Rises" have been announced... and they are Catwoman and Bane... Good idea?... let's look at the two movies so far...
"Batman Begins" - If you know your Batman, this film had not one, not two, but FOUR villains in it... don't believe me?
-Carmine Falcone - played by Tom Wilkinson
-Ra's Al Ghul - played by Ken Watanabe
-Ducard - played by Liam Neeson
-Dr. Jonathon Crane/Scarecrow - played by Cillian Murphy
You look at that cast... amazing cast, one top of Christian Bale, Katie Holmes, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman...... amazing cast indeed... they certainly can't top themselves... right?.........RIGHT?............. RIGHT??!!!!!??
WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... then came...
"The Dark Knight" - How many villains did this awesome movie have? guess what? FOUR as well... don't believe me?
-Scarecrow - cameo by Cillian Murphy
-Maroni - played by Eric "Fucking" Roberts
-Harvey Dent/Two-Face - played by Oscar worthy Aaron Eckhart
-The Joker - played by Oscar worthy/WINNER Heath Ledger
Look at THAT rogue's gallery... even better than the first movie... along with Bale, Caine, Oldman, and Freeman making it back, along with Maggie "Katie Holmes was better" Gyllenhaal and Michael Jai "need a Spawn sequel" White joining them...... look at those two movies and tell me that Nolan doesn't know what the fuck he's doing......
Did I mention that Heath Ledger won a fucking Oscar for his role as The Joker? For all of you haters that say he only won it because he died, FUCK YOU... you apparently didn't see the movie, did you? I'll go on record saying that I honestly think Aaron Eckhart was better as Two-Face and i wished he had more screen time as Two-Face...... but it wasn't for Heath Ledger's performance in that movie, that movie would've sucked all kinds of ass... and I will be honest with you in that I didn't have as much faith in Ledger as Joker as I had in Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man... but both of those actors MADE those movies... you've got your actors that do well in their parts, and you have those actors that are so perfect that they MAKE their MOVIES exponentially better(not just their own parts)... and these two did just that... now, why did Ledger win one and not RDJ? simple... those that knew Tony Stark in the comics and RDJ's reputation, you could feel that he was perfect... but it was a movie & comic built around the machine not the man inside...... but The Joker is ALL about the man... and in Nolan's Batman universe, The Joker wasn't just a mad man, but portrayed as someone who could exist in reality...... and Heath Ledger made it look like a seamless transition from comic book pages to the big screen...... and for you haters that mention Jack Nicholson......I'd like to remind of one thing...... Heath Ledger Joker - Christopher Nolan... Jack Nicholson Joker - Tim Burton... two different styles... more on him later...
Now on to the upcoming film "The Dark Knight Rises"... There have been plenty of rumors... one floated for quite awhile that Johnny Depp was going to play The Riddler...... I think that would've been AWESOME... but I'd like point out the love-love relationship that Johnny Depp has with Tim Burton, and remember that for The Riddler, Tim Burton cast... Jim Carey?... now, Jim Carey was great, but considering Burton couldn't even cast Depp as the green clad genius, then why would Nolan?... if you want to see Johnny Depp as The Riddler, picture Riddler wearing a different color still brandishing the cane and you get Willy Wonka......... the next rumor I heard was Dr. Hugo Strange... and I thought "That would be fucking awesome too", but it was around the time that it was announced that Dr. Strange was going to be the main villain/mayor in Rocksteady's upcoming sequel to the 5 star "Arkham Asylum" titled "Arkham City", so I figured that was just coincidence...
So who did Christopher Nolan pick? Catwoman and Bane...... lemme go on record saying that after I saw "The Dark Knight" twice that first weekend and seeing Rachel die... I said... I SAID... we WILL see Catwoman in the third movie...... guess what? who was right?... and BANE!!!!... I loved Bane... smart enough to break Batman down mentally before he broke his back over HIS KNEE........... I am kinna worried how they will play Bane out in "The Dark Knight Rises"... BUT have you seen "Batman & Robin", not only did this movie reiterate my opinion of it being nothing more than a "Rubber Nipple and Codpiece" movie, that just through Bane in as Poison Ivy's dumbass bodyguard... since Bane looks to be the main villain, Nolan shouldn't screw it up that badly.........
As for the whole "Rubber Nipple and Codpiece" opinion, why oh why did George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell have the rubber nipples, but Alicia Silverstone didn't? who in the blue hell fucked up on that decision?
Back to this movie... who got picked as "The Dark Knight Rises" villainous duo?
BANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
TOM HARDY!!!!!!!!!! |
CATWOMAN!!!! |
ANNE HATHAWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
I've heard haters talk about how Anne Hathaway was a bad choice as Catwoman... Halle Berry was a bad choice for a bad movie... but I want you to think about this... look at that pic above... take her innocence that we all know and love, and add some tight leather or latex(or rubber if you're "Bat"shit like Tim Burton), and you tell me that movie-set-prick Christian Bale wouldn't have big enough wood that even the Kevlar can't hide... and you have exactly what Catwoman is. In costume, she is a clever, hot, seductive cat-burglar that can even make Batman have wet dreams... out of costume, she is the innocent-looking woman just trying to do what she thought was right, hot enough for Bruce Wayne to wish he was still wearing his Kevlar pajamas to hide both his boner and the sweat beading... and I personally think Anne Hathaway is a great actress... no matter how strange her roles have been... I say, Nolan did well yet again......
But I didn't expect it to be her... seriously, I expected Jessica Biel... but I AM NOT complaining...
And if you still wanna be a hater...... remember this... my question to you: have you seen "Batman Begins", "The Dark Knight", AND "Inception"?... then I want you to repeat after me...
In Nolan We Trust...
Now I definitely can't wait for this one...
What do YOU think about these two? Did you go "Oh well" and shrug your shoulders?
Or did you say "What the FUCK?"
Thank you for reading this long ass post...
