The New Review - Jurassic World

Woohoo Next

The New Review
"Jurassic World"
Director: Colin Trevorrow
Starring: Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D'Onofrio

Background Check: Jurassic Park. Michael Crichton and Steven Spielberg gave birth to a shitload of dinosaurs and a movie/book/story that was filled with "what if" magic... And two laughable sequels.

Concept: John Hammond would be proud. The park he had always envisioned became a reality. And then the scientist went too far. Again.

Execution:
Cast: Bryce Dallas Howard is hot. No question about that. Vincent D'Onofrio fresh off his amazing turn as Wilson Fisk in Netflix's Daredevil made for a good human villain this time around. And Chris Pratt... Dude is officially the new IT actor in Hollywood... And he has fun doing it... Score: 10/10

Characters: ever archetype established in the original movie is represented here. All the way down to the kids getting screwed up in the park. Maybe relies to heavy on that idea... But good anyway... Score: 9/10

Visual: Imagine is the original had been redone with today's special FX... Destruction. Even Spielberg crapped himself in a couple of spots... Score: 9.5/10

Sound: RAWR... Nothing else needed to be said. Score: 10/10

Story: making something that was HUGE 20 years ago is no easy task, and while it's a good idea to watch the originals or read the books(or both) to get the little references, it isn't necessary to enjoy the movie. It grabs, chews on you, throws you to the ground, and you wanna jump up and ask for another ride... Story: 10/10

Flow: there is no break in evolution... Score: 10/10

Substance: um. GIANT DINOSAURS ARE GONNA EAT YOU!!!!! And it did well to drive home the point of very intelligent animals... Captured the magic I grew up with watching the first movie... Score: 10/10

Closure: I have to say, the ending was alittle wonky. Sequel possibility? I hope so... Just it didn't seem to close the movie... Ala Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince... It could've benefitted from maybe 2-3 more minutes... Score: 8/10

Legacy: 20 Years later and we get the sequel the original deserved. Not saying Jurassic Park 3 wasn't good... Just not as good as this. And I think it helped to have Chris Pratt as the lead. Excellent fit in the Jurassic... World... Ha... Score: 10/10

Extra Oomph: Imagine this. Disney World. But with Dinosaurs. While there are plenty of people who support it based on how awesome, fun, and possibly educational it could be, there are those that sit behind the scenes and look at it for what else it is... A profitable business. Can't keep the doors open if you don't make money. And it almost always can cause a LARGE problem... Like Dino-death... Score: 10/10

Total Score: 96.5. Solid A

Conclusion: Jurassic World made a lot of money. Why? Expensive ticket prices? Maybe... But what about people going and seeing it again. I know I'm going to. It was a great movie, with great actors. Oh and some humans in it too.

It's all a matter of opinion: I cannot stress enough that THIS is MY opinion, you can either agree with me or not. I don't have to justify my opinion, because *clears throat* that's what this blog is about. Whether I like it or not doesn't mean you have to or not...... It's just my justification behind MY recommendation... Which leads me to my FINAL JUDGMENT...

Final Judgment: this is not a movie for little kids, because of GIANT FUCKING KILLER DINOSAURS, and if you didn't know this, then you shouldn't been going yourself. That being said, for everyone else, it is a must see. It's made so much because it is an amazing movie.

Wow. I gave "Jusrassic World" a 96.5

Good job Chris Pratt... And some dinosaurs too.
