I Believe In CM Punk

This is my first wrestling post in quite awhile, and it's my first on here for even longer...... So I figured I would mark my return with a very hot topic... CM Punk......

Since I haven't been able to voice my opinion like I've wanted to, I haven't been able to touch on any of the situation, so I'm going to start with the moment of all moments...... the now infamous rant...

If you don't know which rant I'm talking about, it's the one where CM Punk sat on the stage and gave the greatest WWE can take this job and shove it speech since Joey Styles did it signaling the debut of WWECW...... and while some of us found out later that it WAS a worked shoot, you could see it on Punk's face that it was from the heart...... and that night, CM Punk had his Austin 3:16 moment... his Undertaker American Badass moment... his Sting is in the rafters moment...... he went from being just another cog in the wheel, to the man turning the crank........ and reflecting on it, that one moment has literally changed the face of the WWE...... no no, the face of the entire American pro-wrestling market/business...... even since, Vince has been "relieved of his duties"(though we knew it was soon anyway), UFC President Dana White visited WWE HQ for the first no doubt talking about Brock Lesnar, and CM Punk mentioned his buddy Colt Cabana and Colt had his first dark match with the WWE since "returning"...... I put returning in quotes cause he isn't back officially.......... CM Punk became a candidate and vessel for change...... he did just that......

Now, the Money in the Bank PPV and the Main Event......

WWE Champion John Cena defending against CM Punk... if Punk won, he said he was leaving with the championship and Vince said he would FIRE John Cena...... THIS match was easily a 5 Star Match and is officially one of the 10 best matches I've seen since the WWE/WCW merger...... and the BEST match since Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker 1 at Wrestlemania 26... match was good in the ring, showed more of what John Cena was about when he started in the WWE, before he became "Super Cena"...... this match surpassed the hype... there was drama, tension, and it left you uneasy as to the outcome...... and when Vince McMahon & John Laurinaitis came out, you knew what was next... another Montreal Screwjob... and when Cena stopped it, he restored my faith in the unexpected in the WWE... CM Punk gets the pin...... and goes through the crowd with the WWE Championship...... that was a 6 Star ending to a 5 Star Match...... but Punk was no longer an employee(or was he, more that later)... and he HAD the WWE Championship...... did I forget to mention that this PPV was in Punk's hometown of Chicago? I'm sure if Cena would've won, they really would've rioted...... and WWE would've be short a Punk and a Cena......

Over the next few weeks we received treats on TV and off...... Vince was essentially taken off TV in one strange moment in WWE Raw history, even the fans weren't sure how to react...... meanwhile, CM Punk was tweeting pics of him and the WWE Championship attending a Chicago Cubs game that night(Raw was in Green Bay)...... and he tweeted an epic pic of the WWE Title in his fridge.......... but it was Comic Con where I knew something was up...... CM Punk crashed the WWE/Mattel panel...... I understand why Punk would be at Comic Con... he is an avid comic book fan, calls himself Batman, and hell he has the COBRA emblem tattooed on his shoulder...... BUT when he crashed the panel, why was it the WWE cameras that followed him there?...... he had to be with the WWE, but change needs a little push...... right?

Then came CM Punk's return...... that was an awesome moment as well because you just KNEW it was coming THAT night... but when?...... the last match of the tournament to determine a new WWE Champ(the first of the post McMahon era) started the show, with Rey Mysterio beating The Miz in a great 4 star match at least...... and when Triple H announced Rey vs John Cena for the main event, you could see it... you could smell it...... John Cena wins his 12 championship, technically, and hats off to Rey Mysterio for wrestling in TWO 4 Star matches in one night, but he got the raw deal on this storyline... Rey understands his imprtance, and he will be Champ again before he retires...... you can quote me on that........... anyway, there is John Cena congratulating Rey on an awesome match, celebrating his championship victory, and some music started playing... of course, it's the WWE, most of the time when someone comes out, it's to their own music(or silence as the case for R-Truth)... BUT this music wasn't one that WWE had ever used as an entrance theme...... it was "Cult of Personality" by Living Colour(trivia: WWE did use that song for Stone Cold Steve Austin's Hall of Fame induction video)...... at first there was no reaction... then some hardcore fans started cheering...... then the Titantron showed a new Tron video for CM Punk and there he was on stage(trivia: those hardcore fans knew Punk used the song during his time in Ring of Honor)......... and a mini showdown took place......

This past Monday, I attended Raw in Indianapolis... and it was the one WWE Event that I look forward to most... it was CM Punk's first official night back on Raw... and you could just feel the tension...... you could feel it in the arena... you could feel it in your bones...... and my broski from another mother Larry had just bought the whole John Cena red Fruity Pebble set... the t-shirt... the hat... the armbands and headband... and a gold colored U C Me chain... sitting next to him, it was the perfect night to annoy him...... so I tried to start random CM Punk chants......... Punk comes out to start the night, and it was THE loudest crowd reaction in Conseco Fieldhouse I've ever been a part of, mixed reaction of course, with boos coming from the Cena fans, and dying cheers from everyone else, and the Punk support was more so than I expected......... the night trudged on like we knew it would, with an epic in ring showdown between CM Punk and Triple H... and it showed exactly what the WWE was looking for............ when WWE turned back to PG, it pandered to the Super Cena/Hulk Hogan demographic, while I support the PG movement to the letter, alot of fans thought WWE turned their back on the true wrestling fan.......... and thanks to CM Punk, we have a relevant voice... a Voice of the Voiceless...... he is the anti-Cena, and the face(or good guy for those following along) for those hardcore fans...... I for one see the merit in both, and I'm glad this storyline is going the way it's going.............. maybe it was TOO predictable for WWE to make a Title vs Title match for SummerSlam, but THIS is what that championship needed.... if you saw my post on The Miz's title reign, you would know I supported it, and it's length, and his victory over John Cena, because it broke the chain, it snapped the predictability... and gave the WWE Championship SOME of it's credibility back................. now this, a Title vs Title between one man who beat the other in a 5 star match with a 6 star finish with 30 days of his victory and one man who won an inevitable paper championship on a night he didn't deserve to......... both have legitimate stake... I would be okay with either man winning... but if CM Punk doesn't win it, it'll kill the momentum, and lose the ground they've covered with this storyline......

Personal moment from Raw... when John Laurinaitis(aka Johnny Ace & Super Dave Osbourne impersonator) came out to give his two cents, as he was getting in the ring on our side, I screamed "Fire him!!!"... and even through the extremely thick air of boos he was getting, he heard me...... Johnny Ace turn and looked me in the eye... pissed him off... made me sooooooooo happy...

Well... it's done the best I can...... I will have one for Smackdown soon... and FUCK TNA...

Stay tuned, I'll have more soon.......
